Be Unreasonable - Aydin Mirzaee’s Take on the World.

As the advertisement above shows, we may be seeing the iPhone a lot sooner than I had originally assumed. If you’ve had a chance to play with the iPhone, you’ll have realized what an amazing toy it is. If you think about it, you probably payed $200+ for you iPod and now you can get an iPod, Camera, and Phone all in one. Good deal, yes. The user interface is also genius.

However, I dislike the fact that even though the Canadian Currency is worth more than the American Dollar, that the price of this phone is still a lot higher in Canada. The phone is about $120 USD more expensive in Canada. Not only that, data charges are a lot higher in Canada so you can’t really use the phone to its fullest. Should Canadians be angry, yes.

If you ever heard of the beginning of Apple and Steve Jobs, you’ll appreciate the significance of this news. Steve Jobs, since the very beginning, was looking to beat IBM. That moment has finally come. At the current stock price of $186 per share, Apple is worth $162 Billion, whereas IBM is worth $159 Billion. A true milestone in history indeed.

Watch the video above. Its the movie “Pirates of Silicon Valley.” Its an amazing movie that will give you some insights into the beginning of the personal computer (pc) as we know it…

One of my favorite bands, Seether, has a new album with the flagship song: “Fake It.” It’s an amazing song not just because it sounds great but because of the lyrics. I remember listening to Bruce Firestone (the Ottawa Senators Founder) when he mentioned that although from the outside, it seemed like he knew what he was doing all along, he was just making it up every step of the way. There are valuable lessons to be learned from Seether. Watch the video

Everyone has heard of the iPhone and how fast it is gaining in popularity. Here are some interesting stats recently revealed by Apple:

1) 1.4 Million iPhones have been sold in a little over 3 months. That’s roughly 16,000 iPhones a day!!! It took over 2 years for Apple to sell that number of iPods…

2) Apple believes that it can sell 10 million iPhones by the end of the year.

btw, if you are looking to purchase an unlocked iPhone in Canada, a friend recently gave me word that he had a few extra ones on hand that he was looking to sell. Again, message me on facebook for more information…

The other day I had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Michael Cowpland, a renowned entrepreneur and businessman. Mike, as he likes to be called, is famous for his role in co-founding Mitel with Terrence (Terry) Matthews and later on founding Corel (which we all know for its CorelDraw and Wordperfect products) and serving as its CEO through the best of Corel’s times. More recently Mike serves as the CEO of ZIM Corporation which is a leading player in the mobile entertainment business.

3 back to back home runs is not a matter of luck, you have to be good, and damn good, at what you do to be able to accomplish what Dr. Cowpland has accomplished. This man definitely has my respect.

I was surprised to find out recently that a lot of people still don’t know that they can update their Facebook status via text message (i.e. SMS). This is actually pretty easy and its a great way to make sure that everyone is spying on you all the time

All you have to do is send a text message to FBOOK (32665) and make sure that your text message starts with an “@” character…

So, for example, If I wanted to update my status to “Aydin is blogging now”, all I’d have to do is send the following text message to facebook (32665):

“@ blogging now”.

btw, you can tell if someone updated their facebook status from their cell phone if you see a small mobile phone icon right next to their status update…

Over the years, I’ve had many HP printers… EVERY single one of them has broken down. The last HP printer I bought really made me angry. It was late on a Sunday, I bought the printer only to realize that it only came with Color Ink. That’s right, the printer did not come with Black Ink but did come with Color Ink… an accident? No. Think about it, if they included only Black Ink, there would be a good chance that you wouldn’t pick up Color Ink; but, you can’t go without Black Ink… HP doesn’t even include printer cables with its printers by default. Even worse, their printers break down fast

Lexmark on the other hand is amazing. I just bought a WiFi printer (that’s right, I can print wirelessly… nice.) for $60 CAD and it included Black and Color ink in addition to a printer cable. Also, Lexmark printers are even better designed (they look really nice).

Long story short, if you are buying a new printer, go with Lexmark
