A good friend, Allan Isfan sent me an invite to a new facebook application called FaveQuest. At first, I thought: “yea, like I need another facebook app…” I added the app for the heck of it and also because Allan is a friend… needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised
FaveQuest essentially entertains you without you having to do much. The problem with YouTube and all the other video sites out there is that you have to actively search for good stuff… FaveQuest will find all the videos that are of interest to you and play them. The other great thing about FaveQuest is that you can share interesting videos with your buddies. Except for the bOK application (Free Calls to your Facebook Friends), I haven’t recommended any other application. This is an application that you should check out!
Is the 5000 friend limit on Facebook a myth? not really. Renowned Silicon Valley blogger Robert Scoble, reached this limit a long time ago. Mark Cuban (billionaire owner of the Dallas Mavericks) just reached the limit. Jeff Pulver has about 4,200 friends and is fast approaching the limit. I would’ve assumed that with the weight that their names carried, exceptions could be made for them? Maybe 5,000 friends is all they need?
Well, the other day, thanks to the folks over at BluePrint ventures, a lot of us had a good laugh. The video below demonstrates a mockery of what life as a venture capitalist is really like:
I just love this video and I’m sure lots will get a laugh out of it. By the way, you can see the other videos from BluePrint Ventures here:
I always wished the someone would develop a plugin for firefox that would allow you to have several rows of tabs rather than just one really long row of tabs that you have to scroll through… well, good news! Just download Tab Mix and you can have that today. This has definitely made my browsing a whole lot more efficient! Thanks Guys!!!
Over the weekend, my friend Sam Zaid and I put my Jawbone to the test. Our conclusion was that while the Jawbone was better than an average bluetooth headset, it was not as great as the video below shows it to be:
Another complaint that I have is that the Jawbone is a little too fragile… After playing with it over a day, I accidentally damaged it while attempting to charge it… oh well…
But other than that, I think that both of us decided that in comparison to other bluetooth headsets out there, it is a better purchase…
I loved Pandora (still do). At work, it caught on like wildfire… in one week, you could see all 50 people on our floor with their headphones on and tuned into Pandora.
But then, Canadian users were not allowed to access Pandora directly
Now, there is a great alternative for the Pandora deprived crowd. Its called MeeMix. I’ve known about MeeMix for a long time… I haven’t talked about them to too many people before since their app didn’t work all too well in the past… but, I just logged in again tonight and was pleasantly surprised to see it working well… Check it out if you like to listen to free streaming music personalized for you
Bravo Telus!!! That’s not something I’d usually say… but, this is truly a good deal. If you were ever looking to buy a BlackBerry, now is the time… As a promotion, Telus is now giving out the new BlackBerry Pearl / HTC Touch / or HTC S720 for free when you sign up for a 3 year plan: http://www.telusmobility.com/on/plans/pcs/toronto_smartphones.shtml
You can of course sign up for a $15 unlimited email and instant-messaging plan as well. This is a good deal.
Although, I wish that they would let other BlackBerry owners sign up for the $15 unlimited email plan as well (pretty please???)…
