So, the other day, my dad sends me a text message saying that he got an iPhone… wtf?
a) text message?
b) iPhone?
Alright, so, what’s wrong with this picture? I don’t even have an iPhone -not available in Canada & Telus [CDMA] has me locked in for 3 years- and now my dad [living in New York] does
Not only that, I didn’t even know my dad knew what a text message was!
At the end of the day, wow! The iPhone has really led a revolution… everyone’s buying them (not only techies)… but, it is also leading people to try new things… I just learned that my dad now accesses facebook through his phone… hmmm…

Here are my daily criticisms for the following up and coming startups:
Kwiry - Text yourself with reminders
JuicyCampus - spread campus rumors
Inside Trip - Smarter Travel Choices
SmartPatterns.com - customize your own patterns
TagItOn - redefining forums
SlashID - Your Last Username & Password

Iotum has always had a great application on Facebook that lets you make free conference calls. Now, it has become a lot better because it allows for 100% free conference calls…
Here’s how it works:
1) add the iotum facebook application here.
2) organize a conference call on facebook (really simple interface).
3) either call in using your computer or ask for a call back (both ways are completeley FREE!).
4) others join your conference in the same way (a conference can be public or private).
Try it out. you won’t be disappointed.

chide.it is my latest startup. It is in essence a community based on criticism. The inspiration for this came from the article that valleywag wrote about me a while back. I realized that people really enjoy criticizing others. I also thought that it would be really great if there was an efficient way to tell the difference between baseless and constructive criticisms. If there was a tool to help promote constructive criticisms, it would have the potential to help improve a lot of what is out there in the real world.
The goal of chide.it is to give people a chance to become critics on topics of interest to them. These criticisms in turn will benefit the topics being criticized (assuming we do a good job at identifying the constructive criticisms). The website is still in its very early stages and will get better week by week. If you’d like to test out the site, please go ahead (signups are open)…
btw, we’re eating our own dog food… feel free to chide chide.it here
